Anti-Kymiliane Insurrection, Kymi absent.
The ultimate recap of the events of Friday the 8th of November, and Early Saturday, the 9th of November.
Shocking news out of Polcompball yesterday when PCB’s Head Owner Kymiliane, who had been owner for eight months, faced an insurrection headed by disgruntled Giganites BE, and Kaiser, quickly followed by a whole motley crew of insurrectionists all rallying around a single unifying goal- the removal of Kymiliane from office.
According to BE directly, the reason for this revolt was the removal of several key individuals due to what he and his party considered non-valid justifications. He highlights several of these in his video on the topic, which I will place below:
Note- the details in this video have been exaggerated for dramatic effect. The suburb was Brampton, not Mississauga.
I would like to additionally thank BE for being… Liberally forthcoming with information surrounding his goals for this coup, to a degree of almost concern. He gave me the following points as to his aspirations:
The coup in question had been planned for three months. This directly implies that the insurrectionists at the forefront were looking for an opportunity to overthrow Kymi, as opposed to the video, which states that they did it in reaction to the ban of froggers, which was more recent.
This coalition is led by the Giganite Party. This means that it is entirely possible that the election manager (Seamonkey, a member of the insurrection) was aware of the plan for a considerable amount of time. It is currently unknown whether the coup was discussed in detail in the giganite server itself, or if backchannels were used.
This is happening because Kymiliane is “a dangerous combination of incompetent and overconfident”.
The initial plan was for a slow rollout of gradual changes that would culminate in Giganite taking control from Kymi.
The plan was to replace the original PCB server with the planned splinter server, and “Choke” kymiliane out.
BE then stated that his intention was to create “BE PCB”, attaching the below image. This can be assumed to mean his intentions were to become owner of Polcompball after Kymiliane’s departure.
Upon hearing the news, Kymiliane’s initial response was one of immediate planning. My source in the moderator chats tells me that this time was largely spent with BERNHE, Cao, Loogie and MrNoNonsense, discussing the ramifications, and potential courses of action. After an alleged heated discussion in Staff Lounge with Nguyen, Kymiliane then left the server. After her decision to do so, she asked of me to publish this statement, which at the time, I did.
I wish to say I'm taking a total hiatus from PCB for two weeks at the very least. An update will be provided on November 21st. I want to add to this that I intend for things to change in the server.
I want people to know that their voices are heard when it comes to certain things regarding the server. My break is not under the hope that what is currently going on will blow over; it's for me to come up with a plan and decide what I have to do next.
Obviously I do not see eye to eye with my biggest critics, but I want and will work towards a peaceful solution for everyone involved in the community, regardless of their views on the matter.
After which, control of the server defaulted to Cao, who gave it to Froggers, who then gave it to Somedude, who proceeded to make the following announcement.
I know all of you are probably tired of the constant drama but unfortunately theres going to be another text wall. You'll probably notice that ownership has changed defacto on this server from one of Kymis alts to me. I will be running the server from now own.
I ask the people that defected to return and try to merge the community again in its entirety. I hope that with this change we can leave this behind and look forward to actually running this place like it once was, as an interconnected community. At this point, it should be possible to have all parts work together cohesively. Some of you may not know me, but plenty of people here will put a good word in my name. Don't expect an insane shift immediately, but obviously things will radically change. Feel free to DM or ping me or whatever if youre confused or want to know what im about. The past 30 minutes have been really chaotic so im still adjusting to it myself i guess.
Honorable mention to @Froggers and @cao for making this happen. They had ownership for a short period but were humble enough to give it up.
Kymi willingly stepped down in a chaotic way and may or may not return at some point. Also, we are not doing owner elections. We will keep and probably expand the party system though.
I first interviewed Somedude, first to congratulate him on his ascension, and then to ask him what his plans for the server were. here was his response.
This entire ordeal has been very unexpected and spontaneous so im still working out the details - generally speaking, i just want to make the most of the fact the subreddit, wiki and discord are all unified and hopefully stable for the first time in years. Ideally there can be some actual overarching community growth, which has been hindered by past drama and splinters. Realistically I dont intend on massively changing course, but I would much rather leave more things to staff and maybe soften things up in general. Im also excited to hopefully encourage growth in this community by doing genuine events again. Ideally id like to return to something closer to very early pcb, as far as 2020, and reviving the subreddit will be important. Finally, since the server is probably going to go beyond 2k members at some point, we need to streamline bureaucracy and i plan to make major reforms on the party system and overall administration. Only hard part right now is getting everyone on board with my ideas.
I Interviewed Seamonkey as to the events surrounding his decision to join the insurrection. This is what he told me.
Let me first say that a big reason I joined the staff council was to prevent massive outbursts of drama like this from happening, as hard as that might be for some people to believe now.
I want stability and harmony in the community. I want it to be an environment where people can get along and resolve disagreements peacefully
So for most of Kymi's ownership I opposed and worked against all coup plots
That began to change about a month ago when a particularly nasty argument broke out in the mod chat that revealed some deep frustrations the staff had with kymi. She was quite shocked by this and declared she was going on a 'break' after this happened and gave me the task of preparing reforms to the server.
After this point i noticed opposition to Kymi's leadership growing stronger and stronger
And i also noticed Kymi's mental state beginning to deteriorate
she started lashing out at users, especially staff
her tolerance for dissent became thinner and thinner to the point where she was handing out demotions to any mod who criticised her actions
She stopped listening to anybody and acted increasingly autocratic
she went from being somebody who i had disagreements with but was at least willing to be responsive when needed, to an emotionally unstable tyrant in the span of a couple weeks
the thing that finally broke my loyalty, along with many others, was when she banned froggers after he told her off for her authoritarian attitude
I was furious. i thought it was outrageous what she had done. There was no justification.
the next morning, for the first time, i was invited to a coup plot. Had it been any day before i would have refused. but this time i decided to join
this was the 16th of october btw
over the next weeks we planned out what we were going to do. We came up with two main strategies: getting her removed from the wiki, and setting up a splinter server to move dissenters to.
we spent a while focusing on the first plan. Me and Athena wrote up this whole document detailing our problems with Kymi's leadership, filled with screenshots for proof and detailed accounts of her worst actions
we submitted it to miraheze, but they never got back to us
Meanwhile Kymi only got worse
Her outburts became more frequent and more severe
to the point where all the mods were afraid to say anything negative to her
I tried multiple times to explain this to her in the most diplomatic ways i could
but she never listened
during one instance she became so angry that i was afraid she was about to demote me
eventually she told me flatly that she didn't want to hear a word of my warnings anymore. She said it was just fearmongering
That was the moment i truly decided that the coup was the only remaining option.
before then i wanted to just kind of... allow it to happen and remain on her side, advising her from the sidelines
but after that point i gave up hope that that was possible
I decided that instead, i was going to be the one to pull the trigger
(by then i already had a far bigger influence on planning then i had originally intended)
So then came the day of the coup.
It started with the moderator Noisykid changing his nickname to 'full on nigmode', which was stupid of him and against the rules
Kymi saw this and decided to instantly permaban him
now, everyone agreed that he should have been punished. but the correct course of action would have been a mute, maybe a demotion
not an instant permaban
so we complained, explaining our reasons. And like usual, kymi didn't listen and accused the objectors of 'defending racists', which was blatantly untrue
then she said this
And i basically snapped. i was beyond enraged by this threat
that was the trigger
within minutes mizo had been demoted
then BE
also at this time of day most of the plotters happened to be online
and we decided that now was the moment
so BE posted his coup video, and i posted my statement calling for Kymi to resign
she immediately deleted it and demoted and muted me
but i just posted it again and pinged everyone
then we all went over to the splinter server
within the hour it had over 100 people in it. peaking at 150 the next day.
we didnt have time to screen any of the people joining, so we just verified everybody. which kymi then used as ammunition to attack us by calling us another FPCB or Casual.
we started to get it under control but it was very difficult because there werent many of us and we were quite frankly overwhelmed with doing that and negotiating with kymi at the same time
speaking of which, kymi and i had a long argument about what had just happened. She was very upset with me and thought i had masterminded the whole thing.
I told her all my reasons for doing it, not entirely calmly, but always with honesty
She thought i was being nonsensical and hypocritical.
neither of us were willing to budge. after a few hours she just blocked me
she asked cao to negotiate with me on her behalf, not knowing that he was also in on the plot
Not much happened for the next day. Kymi hurriedly reshuffled the staff team. Grass and Nguy both held polls in the main server on whether kymi should resign, both ending with almost 90% against her staying head owner. this was all after a lot of her opposition had migrated to a new server. It was clear the community had thoroughly rejected her.
I interviewed BE on the matter of his position, the future of his party, and the future of the insurrection.
it is still unknown who will be the leader of giganite in a few days, as election are ongoing. it is likely between kaiser, me, and mizo. kaiser, specially, is pro-somedude, while i am not. i guess i should say i am opposed to how SD came to power-- kymi blackmailed froggers and cao, █████ ██████ ██ ███████ to transfer ownership to somedude. although somedude might not be worse than kymi, i strongly believe that he should step down in favor of holding a new ownership election. He is a big loose end kymi intentionally left to handycap (sic) us and we need to be free of her legacy.
Somedude has owned polcompball servers in the past, and has a very mixed track record-- including dropping off the face of the earth for a year with no way of contacting him, leaving froggers to run the server in his place (without owner perms). Somedude is also largely responsible for the wiki-sub split. in fact, i believe this is why kymi made him leader- to cause another civil war. in the end, i explicitly demand elections, and, if i do win the giganite leadership elections, the giganite party will as well.
one last note- a message directly to somedude: There were guns pointed at kymi who's triggers were never pulled.
In our discussions, Both Seamonkey and BE had alluded to an alleged blackmail if she did not have her replacement, Somedude, chosen for the role of head owner.
Further discussions with BE led me to discuss the coup with Cao. He was hesitant at first to provide personal details, I said I would respect these boundaries, and only wished for clarification on the claim itself, and his role in the coup. He had the following to say.
Alright so i was brought on to the conspiracy to overthrow kymi (late) by nguyen, but I disagreed with the majority of them frequently. I consistently advocated a “decapitation strike” in which kymi would be immediately removed from power without any protracted negotiation period or competing servers. I knew how attached kymi was to owning pcb, And I thought of the resignations and arguments as totally futile and even counter intuitive in some cases and forced them to not do anything insane like nuking the server. There’s no reason why they should have revealed their dissatisfaction in that way, because the whole point of the conspiracy was taking advantage of secrecy. kymi thought of me as a “nobody”, in comparison to the more prominent members so I realized that if I could ingrain myself into kymis (now unstable and easy to infiltrate) staff structure I could spy for the conspiracy and proactively influence decisions kymi made.
At this point kymi made me a temporary owner so I could deal with the rebellion better (despite these permissions being wholly irrelevant to what she had me do). I pretended to negotiate with nguyen and seamonkey in public and dms and created an illusion that I was holding them back and keeping the server in check, I even had a fake debate with seamonkey in dms just in case kymi asked for screenshots (she never did). it was incredibly difficult but i got kymi to give me ownership of the server. None of this was done with the conspiracy’s approval or even knowledge. There was a flash of private personal events and the result was me transferring ownership to SD.
I had also, through an anonymous source, found out that in fact, Prplz was never involved with the ousting of Kymiliane. Prplz asked Nguyen to insert him into the story after the fact, claiming that he had pushed her to giving up the account, but this was a clear discrepancy to several accounts. Prplz never got Kymi ousted.
In my time in this discussion, I had become increasingly exhausted by the revelations I was uncovering. Kymiliane had purportedly blackmailed Froggers and Cao to ensure that Somedude would become owner of Polcompball. There are many personal details that have been left out of this story, in some cases due to the wishes of participants, and in others, from my own insistence that personal details be omitted. All that is important is the facts that can be proved, and everything above are the firsthand accounts that say that Kymi had ensured Somedude would become owner. Seamonkey had one last statement on the matter:
my comment on that is that i think it was an extremely underhanded thing of her to do. It felt to me like kymi's final middle finger to the community before leaving.
I gave Somedude the chance to make a statement regarding the incident, after apologising profusely for the nature of the question. Here was his response.
First of all, its important to highlight that Cao and Froggers also had ownership at some point, literally defacto. They both agreed to transfer it. Furthermore, this is a very messy and private matter that was not really ever intended to be in public eye. I will emphasize though, the only demand was kymis resignation, its only fair that they get to choose. I also have to underline that there was no push for this on my side, but a decision they made themselves.
I apologise that a lot of statements produced are quotes, but other people know the events and how to retell them better than I ever could, in many situations.
Nguyenreich had some final words on the character of Kymiliane, when I asked him for a statement
Kymi has so far been a traitor and an utterly miserable person with no damned redeeming qualities. She has so far gaslit most of the staff team into fighting eachother with the methods of appeasing and then going behind others for the sake of gaining as much support as possible. She has sunk multiple daggers into this community for the sake of using it as a coping mechanism and only used it in the pursuit of nepotism. She is not fit to be anywhere near power in this community at all, and I hope Polcompball learns a lesson from her ownership. I helped create her, I will also be the one to help destroy this rapist, nepotistic, narcissist former so-called "owner".
Thank you all so much for sticking through this. It was a slog to read, as much of a slog as it was to right. I’m going to sleep for a long, long time now. TPCBO hopes Kymiliane is doing well, and we hope this resolves itself.
>It is currently unknown whether the coup was discussed in detail in the giganite server itself, or if backchannels were used.
As someone with access to Giganite's leadership channel, I'm pretty sure that the coup was discussed privately in a group (maybe what is now the breakaway server) and nowhere near the Giganite Server.
Critical support to Kymi for destroying the opps ! I hope that the upcoming wannabe-savior "leadership" of ancient-ass neckbeards makes sure to replicate his utter incompetence, emotional volatility and quick-on-permabanning behavior. Nothing screams more "I am unfit to welcome a constant stream of deluded autistic kids" than Somedude's schizophrenia, BE's megalomania, and Nguyen's sexual urges towards minors.
Vive FPCB, vive Borker, mort à l'idiocratie !
